Curvy Kelly Brook is the woman we would most like to see on the catwalk, according to a new survey.
As the debate over size zero models rages on, a poll revealed that the majority of peoople would prefer to see fashions modelled by fuller figured celebrities.
Brook, famed for her voluptuous curves, was top choice. Actress Kate Winslet came second, followed by Charlotte Church and Coleen McLoughlin.
Ultra-skinny Victoria Beckham was bottom of the poll. Original supermodel Cindy Crawford was fifth, just ahead of TV chef Nigella Lawson.
Doctor Who star Billie Piper also made the top 10.

Skinny stars still have their admirers - Kate Moss was seventh while super-slim Keira Knightley was ninth.
The survey of 1,000 people was carried out by Yahoo! Entertainment.
As Paris Fashion Week kicks off, the size zero debate shows no sign of going away.
It sparked an international outcry after bosses at Madrid Fashion Week banned models with a body mass index (BMI) of less than 18.
London Fashion Week chiefs refused to follow suit.
Yahoo! Entertainment spokeswoman Jayne Cherrington said: "We are starting to see a backlash against very skinny bodies in the public eye.
"It seems people would much rather see clothes modelled by people with more attainable shapes, such as Kelly and Coleen, than girls whose bodies are nowhere near those of the average sized woman."

Supermodel Claudia Schiffer has been given a second warning by police to keep her dogs under control after Irish wolfhound Roxy almost mauled another villager's pet.
The catwalk beauty and her producer husband Matthew Vaughn received a visit from officers last year after the dog attacked a Jack Russell. The couple's other pet, German shepherd Oscar, has been reported for biting a postal worker and chasing deer at their sprawling mansion in Suffolk, England.

Now police are warning Schiffer she could face prosecution if there are any further complaints. Owning a dog that is dangerously out of control in a public place carries a maximum six-month prison sentence or a fine.
Earlier this month a spokeswoman for Schiffer said, "The household has taken precautions to ensure public safety."

Czech supermodel Petra Nemcova has revealed that she was once so desperate to land modeling jobs that she went as far as to down laxatives to loose weight.
Nemcova said that being naturally curvy had hampered her career in the beginning and therefore in an attempt to make it big in the modeling world she not only went on one diet after the other, but also took laxatives.
"I went through so many diets in my life. I've been very, very skinny. I've been a size zero but I'm naturally more curvy," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

"I just ate vegetables, carrots, tomatoes. I went from a just-protein diet to just eating apples to eating no carbs. I took laxatives. I went through all of it just to be able to model," she added.

Kate Moss has signed up to design a new range of clothes for UK High Street giant Top Shop.
The deal, announced during London Fashion Week, sees the cocaine shamed supermodel make yet another massive leap in her comeback.
In a joint statement released to Reuters Moss said: "I have always been a big fan of Topshop and regularly shop there. I love what they stand for and am very excited at the thought of working with them. It's going to be great fun."

The collection will be launched in the spring/summer of 2007 and will be available in all of Topshop’s 308 stores.
Neither Moss or Topshop would disclose the amount the model would be paid for the deal.

Police said Friday they hope the talks will resolve problems around the supermodel's home near Bury St. Edmunds, a rural town northeast of London.

Locals have complained about Schiffer's dogs “running wild,” said a spokeswoman for police in the county of Suffolk.“A public footpath runs alongside the grounds, where locals walk dogs.

Moss, who appears in a dream sequence advertising lingerie for Agent Provocateur, has never before spoken in a film, although she had a speaking role in a recent TV ad, The Daily Mail reported.
The online films are four-minutes long.

"That was such a strange dream. I was in this big, empty house," Moss says in the first film. "I was lying on the floor and there was a chalk mark around my body -- like in a crime scene. I got up, but it was like I floated up."
In the third film, Moss, 32, is completely undressed.
The films were directed by Mike Figgis, who made "Leaving Las Vegas." They were filmed in a mansion in London's Portland Place, the newspaper said.

According to Variety, John Woo has cast four complicated news with Chow Yun-Fat, Ken Watanabe, Tony Leung Chiu-Wai and Taiwanese supermodel Lin Chi-Ling for his upcoming film The Battle of Red Cliff.
Woo will co-produce with China Film Group.Based on the classic Chinese novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Red Cliff is set in the final days of the Han Dynasty in the year 208 and covers the war that established the Three Kingdoms period, when China had three rulers.

The tsunami that hit South Asia in December of 2004 claimed more than 230,000 lives and affected 12 countries. Before that, Petra Nemcova was known as one of the world's top models. She was vacationing in Thailand when the tsunami hit, and barely survived. Since then, she has become heavily involved in charity work to help children, around the world, who have suffered loss and devastation.
Nemcova and fiancé photographer Simon Atlee were vacationing in Thailand when they found themselves in the middle of the tsunami. Nemcova held onto a tree for eight hours before being taken to a hospital to be treated for a broken pelvis and serious internal injuries. Atlee did not survive.

Nemcova started Happy Hearts a year ago, and is thrilled to see it is making a difference. She said, "In less than a year, we have raised more than $1.5 million, and supported 13 local charity projects in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand. And we're growing so much. I just came back from Pakistan, from the earthquake zone and other places. From a little thing, it's been growing and I can't say thank you enough to everyone who's been supporting Happy Hearts Fund, and so many wonderful people came aboard and donated time." In a statement read from an expert for the defence, Dr David Eccles, the court was told that the model's urinary infection - cystitis - was commonly caused by having sex.

Supermodel Helena Christensen comes from Denmark, lives in New York and loves Japan, a Hong Kong magazine says.
Christensen said she enjoys being behind the camera as well as in front of it, and she has held solo exhibits of her photography in London, Paris, New York and Berlin, reported Prestige Hong Kong in its August issue.
The Danish model said her next photo exhibit will be in Rotterdam, Netherlands, in November, and then she'll hold another one in Japan, Prestige reported.

Now his reportedly desperate apology is receiving a very public airing. "This is an aberration," Peter Cook said through a lawyer, according to a column by Cindy Adams that was published Tuesday in the New York Post. "I'm sorry. I'm contrite. I'm stupid. Foolish. No excuse." Adams wrote that the 47-year-old's words were provided to her by his attorney, Norman Sheresky. "I love my wife. ... For a lifetime I've tried to prove how much I love her," Cook said, according to the article. Sheresky said that Cook, the model's fourth husband, is hoping for a reconciliation with Brinkley, 52. "He got involved, in over his head somehow, and he wants to make it up to her for the rest of his life," said Sheresky, who also defended Cook as a "man who loves his wife and who loves his children." The couple's separation exploded in scandal earlier this month when 19-year-old Diana Bianchi claimed Cook had seduced her shortly after hiring her to work at his architecture firm. The teenager's lawyer, Joseph Tacopina, described the relationship as consensual, but claimed Cook's role as employer and his gifts of a car, money and jewelry could possibly constitute sexual harassment. The supermodel has signed on as the latest face, or rather bum, of Jordache Jeans, appearing in print ads for the denim denizens from September through the end of the year.
"We are thrilled to be working with Elizabeth Hurley," Liz Berlinger, president of Jordache Enterprises, said in a statement. "With success as an actress, model, business woman and mother, Liz represents everything the Jordache brand is about. We chose her because she is the true modern woman."
The professional poser will be pimping out the '70s denim brand's Vintage line, as well as the new Legacy line, the latter of which will be available exclusively at Macy's nationwide.
While the campaign won't be officially unveiled until September, prints of the initial ads have already hit the Internet, despite Jordache's best efforts--well, efforts--to keep the photos under wraps until fall.
The company's official Website teases a pixilated version of one ad, shot by photographer Michael Thompson, which features Hurley donning the classic embroidered pocket jeans and posing with the signature Jordache horse. Another simply shows Hurley with riding gear.

Hurley, who has previously strutted her spokesmodel skills for Est¨¦e Lauder and Versace, replaces Brittany Murphy as the face of the denim brand. The 8 Mile actress' print ads, also featuring the requisite Jordache horse, ran last year.
But while the 41-year-old model is keen to keep her face in print, her name is another story.
Hurley is adamantly denying British tabloid reports that she's due to marry her longtime Indian businessman beau Arun Nayar this September.

An 18-year-old aspiring actress from Puerto Rico, who hopes to someday star in U.S. and Latin American films, has been crowned as Miss Universe 2006.
Zuleyka Rivera Mendoza of Puerto Rico shared a nervous emotional hug with first runner-up, Kurara Chibana of Japan moments before the winner was announced, then clasped her hands to her mouth in amazement as she heard her name called Sunday night. She beamed as the crown was placed on her head.
Also finishing in the top five were second runner-up Lauriane Gillieron of Switzerland, third runner-up Lourdes Arevalos of Paraguay, and fourth runner-up Tara Conner of the United States.

The field of 86 was actually narrowed to 20 last week during preliminary judging in the contest's swimsuit, evening gown and interview categories, but finalists weren't announced until Sunday's show was under way, allowing all 86 to be introduced to the television audience.
At the opening of the ceremony, several of the contestants sported costumes featuring colorful native dress, including feathers, sequins, fur, massive headpieces and, in the case of Miss Japan, a Samurai sword.
Lia Andrea Ramos of Philippines was chosen most photogenic in an online vote by the public. Angela Asare of Ghana won the congeniality award in a vote by all 86 contestants. Chibana, who carried the impressive looking Samurai sword, won the award for best national costume.
"They were probably afraid not to pick Miss Japan or she would use that sword,'' quipped Carson Kressley of TV's "Queer Eye,'' who provided commentary along with 2004 Miss USA Shandi Finnessey. Opera singer Vittorio Grigolo and Latin singer Chelo provided musical performances.
The pageant began with the top 20 finalists' names being announced early in the show.
Then their scores were discarded and competition began again, with the field gradually narrowed throughout the night.
As soon as the final 20 had been selected, they immediately strutted across the stage in skimpy two-piece bikinis for the swimsuit competition.

After being narrowed to the final 10, the competition moved to evening gowns, with the smiling contestants walking across the stage to music provided by Grigolo.
The winner travels the world for a year on behalf of charities and pageant sponsors.
Natalie Glebova of Canada was to crown her successor at the end of the two-hour telecast with a diamond-and-pearl-studded headpiece valued at $250,000 (euro197,000).

Model Caprice pleads guilty to drink-driving

Model Caprice pleaded guilty today to drink-driving.
The Californian-born model, whose full name is Caprice Bourret, admitted driving a Mercedes while over the legal alcohol limit.
She was arrested by a police patrol while driving in Tottenham Court Road in central London on December 10 last year.
Highbury Magistrates' Court heard today that tests revealed she was over the legal alcohol limit.
However, her solicitor, Nick Freeman, said there were "special" circumstances in that she had been taking medication which had affected how her body metabolised alcohol.
Mr Freeman, who has represented many celebrities in motoring-related cases and is known as "Mr Loophole", said the drug had taken her over the limit.
He said the drug concerned was Cipro, an anti-histamine, which Ms Bourret had been taking to treat cystitis, an infection of the bladder.
He said: "It was a consequence of something that she imbibed, i.e. Cipro, that the offence took place."
He added: "It's the extra additional matter that she took by way of medication which is the special reason.
"It relates to the offence because it is directly related to the commission of the offence.
"If she had not taken that, she would not be before the court for drink-driving."
Mr Freeman said the drug had taken his client over the limit in the same way as if she had taken cough medicine, as has been argued in other drink-driving cases.
If it is proven that the drug was responsible for pushing Ms Bourret over the alcohol limit, she could escape a mandatory driving ban.

Ms Bourret went into the witness box shortly after 11.30am and told the court that she had drunk red wine on two occasions in the 16 hours before her arrest.
She said she drank a bottle and a half of red wine during a lunch in Soho which began at 11.30am on December 9.
She added that she also ate a salad. Ms Bourret said she drove to Soho and left her car in a car park.
Asked how she felt afterwards, she said: "I felt tired, I felt like I had had a drink."
Following an interview in the afternoon at which she drank tea, Ms Bourret said she took a taxi back to her north London home and "passed out".
But that evening she took a taxi back to Soho after a friend telephoned her and invited her to a "drinks party".
Ms Bourret said she did not know the "exact amount" she drank at the party because her glass of red wine was topped up during the night.
"I do not know the exact amount," she said. "I got to the party and one of my girlfriends' friends gave me a glass of red wine and they kept topping it up. I kept the exact same glass all evening."
Ms Bourret said she left the party at around 3.45am after staying for several hours, and gave her friend a lift to a taxi.
She said it was when she stopped to drop her off that the police stopped and breathalysed her. After an initial positive reading, she was taken to a police station where a second reading revealed she had 52 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.

Ms Bourret said she then refused to sign a printout of the reading, and she later refused to sign her formal charge sheet.
"I refused to sign it because I could not accept that I was over the limit. I wanted a blood test and I kept asking for it," she said.
Asked by her solicitor, Mr Freeman, how she felt, she replied: "I was scared and crying. I have never been put into these sorts of circumstances."
The court was told that Ms Bourret, who lives in London and South Africa, holds clean English and American driving licences.
Mr Freeman than began questioning his client about her history of cystitis, which she said she had suffered intermittently since she was a teenager.
Asked why she did not tell the custody sergeant of the condition, she said: "It was a very unique situation I was in and I knew if I told them the whole of England would know.
"I really didn't think it was pertinent. I was embarrassed. This is something that's really private and I am not liking talking about it here at all."
She said she was not aware that the Cipro tablets, of which she had taken 10 in the preceding five days, could have affected how her body dealt with alcohol until her mother warned her after she was charged.
Ms Bourret said she had to stop using the drug and now uses two alternatives, one from South Africa and one from the United States.
When asked to read the labels she struggled with the names of the drugs and said: "I'm having a blonde moment, I guess."

Niki Taylor Picks Motherhood Over Modeling

Niki Taylor can still be found awake most days at 4 a.m., just like when she was living in the fast lane as a supermodel – but these days she’s up at that hour to check on her puppy Kaia before fixing breakfast for her 11-year-old twins, Jake and Hunter. She centers the rest of her day on her boys, driving them to summer school, accompanying them on dirt bikes and begging them to pick up after themselves. "I love being a mom and the chaos it brings me," says Taylor, 31, who lives with the boys in four-bedroom, French colonial in Brentwood, Tenn. "It reminds me how lucky and blessed I am." Those aren't words that first come to mind when reviewing Taylor’s life. In 1995 she saw her younger sister Krissy, also a model, die at age 17 from a rare heart ailment. A year later Taylor's marriage to the twins' father, Arena football player Matt Martinez, fell apart. Then there was her battle with prescription drugs and the car crash five years ago that left her clinging to life and resulted in more than 50 surgeries and procedures to repair her wrecked body. Yet as Taylor looks out over her 7-acre retreat she says, "I have a good thing going on."

She rarely models anymore, instead focusing on a slew of fashion-related enterprises. She has even found a way to stay in touch with her wild side: by riding her Harley-Davidson Road King, an odd choice, perhaps, for someone who nearly died in a car crash. But Taylor shrugs off such concern. " I'm not one to worry – what's the point?" she explains. "We are only here for a short amount of time. You have to live your life. I know that." She knows that a lot better than most: In April 2001, Taylor was with friends in Atlanta when the driver of the car she was in attempted to answer his cell phone and lost control of the vehicle, smashing it into a utility pole. "The doctors prepared us several times for the worst," says Taylor’s mom, Barbara, 59, a photographer. "They said, 'Don't expect any miracles.'" During the six weeks she spent unconscious, Taylor says she experienced terrible nightmares. When she finally regained consciousness that June, she says, "I went through every emotion possible and was like, ‘Something has to change.'" Taylor refocused her life on her boys, settling in Brentwood after she fell in love with the area during a visit. It was there that she dated ex-boyfriend Keith Urban, whom she was with from 2002 to 2004. "We're still friends, and I'm so happy for him and Nicole." Taylor hopes that kind of happiness is in her cards too. "I want to find the right man," she admits. But only homebodies need apply. “On Friday I just want to stay on the couch and watch a movie with the boys,” says Taylor. “That is the perfect night."

Before Ed Burns got married to supermodel Christy Turlington, he didn't have cold feet - but when he became a dad for the first time in 2003, he said he was scared as he didn't know what to expect.
"Before my daughter was born I definitely wrestled with, 'God, I still feel like such a kid.' I still hang out with the same guys I hung out with; we still play our dopey Saturday afternoon softball game. We all still feel like 22-year-olds. Do I know how to be a good dad? You discover you do because you have no choice. You kind of figure it out and do it."
Now Ed and Christy have two kids - Grace, 2 1/2, and Finn, 5 months - and he says that he absolutely loves being a dad. He also said that getting married and having kids later in life allowed him to appreciate this experience so much more.

"I'm just so thankful that I had kids at this age... For people getting married in their mid-20s, you're really just out of high school and college. You don't really have time to think and reflect, you were kind of thrown into this adult situation. Once you have kids, it's, like, "I need to get that job, I need benefits, the house, I need the whole nine. When people put (marriage or kids) off, there’s more time to reflect. You've grown used to this adult life, your habits. You really mourn the loss of that freedom and you’re in a different place financially. Then you recognize kids will change that."

Another employee accuses Naomi Campbell of assault

Naomi Campbell was sued Thursday by another former employee, this one a young Florida woman who claims the supermodel abused her verbally and physically on three continents.
Amanda Brack, 20, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., accused Campbell of assault, battery, false imprisonment and infliction of emotional distress in incidents that started a month after she began working for her in February 2005, court papers say.
Brack's lawsuit was filed while Campbell, 35, was in plea negotiations with Manhattan prosecutors about an assault charge. Campbell was accused of throwing a cell phone at one of her employees in January in a dispute over a missing pair of jeans.
Campbell has called that allegation "completely untrue." But the housekeeper, Ana Scolavino, was treated for an injury to the back of her head, and prosecutor Shanda Strain announced that she and the model's lawyer were in plea talks.
Brack's lawyer, Gerald McCarthy, said his client and the model met in Paris in a nightclub ladies' room where Campbell was upset about a "costume malfunction." He said Brack helped and impressed the model, who then asked Brack to work for her.
Brack's lawsuit says, "Shortly after being hired, defendant Campbell initiated a series of verbal and physical and emotional attacks against (Brack) such that plaintiff suffered both physical and emotional injuries."
McCarthy said Campbell assaulted his client in several incidents that occurred in 2005 in Brazil, Morocco and in Campbell's apartment on Park Avenue in Manhattan.

McCarthy said his client stayed with Campbell as long as she did "because she was star struck." He said the model would take his client with her to meet and hang out with the rich and famous and Brack was impressed with the lifestyle.
McCarthy said a July 2005 incident was the last straw. He said Campbell said something that made Brack believe the model thought she was stealing from her and Brack quit a few days later.
Brack's lawsuit, filed in Manhattan's state Supreme Court, seeks unspecified damages for pain and suffering from Campbell and her North Carolina-incorporated company, OMI Ltd.
A spokeswoman for Campbell did not return a call and an e-mail requesting comment Thursday.
The volatile Campbell has a history of problems with her employees. In 2003, she was sued by a former administrative assistant who said Campbell had thrown a phone at her during a tantrum in Campbell's apartment two years earlier.
In August 2004, in the same apartment, Campbell and her maid battled it out, with the worker claiming the supermodel slapped her across the face. Campbell accused the maid, Millicent Burton, of instigating the fight.
Last month, another maid, Gaby Gibson, filed a lawsuit accusing Campbell of personal injuries, employment discrimination, civil assault and civil battery.

For her first live-action role since giving birth, Angelina Jolie will star in "A Mighty Heart" as Mariane Pearl -- the widow of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, who was killed by terrorists.
In an intriguing twist, the movie is being co-produced by Jolie's boyfriend Brad Pitt and his Plan B production company. Pitt optioned the book back when he and Jennifer Aniston were still married and partners in Plan B. At that time, there was even talk Aniston was among the mix of actresses being considered for the Pearl role.
Filming is expected to begin within the next five weeks. The picture, which is based on Pearl's memoir, will focus on then-pregnant Pearl's search for her husband after he was abducted by Pakistani terrorists thought to be tied to al-Qaida through the time his mutilated body was discovered.

"I am delighted that Angelina Jolie will be playing my role in the adaptation of my book," Pearl told Daily Variety. "I deeply admire her work and what she is committed to."
The film will be directed by Michael Winterbottom, who previously made the Middle East-themed films, "The Road to Guantanamo" and "In This World."
"A Mighty Heart" is one of two films in the works related to the Pearl killing. Josh Lucas will star in "Who Killed Daniel Pearl," a fictionalized drama about a newsman (Lucas) who travels to Pakistan looking for the truth about the murder of a journalist friend. That film is expected to go before the cameras this fall and is based on the book written by Bernard-Henri Levy.
Earlier this week, Jolie announced she will voice a character in DreamWorks Animation's upcoming "Kung Fu Panda."

Appearing on the Monday night BBC TV show You Can't Fire Me - I'm Famous, Rachel told interviewer Piers Morgan that her relationship with Williams was one of her most meaningful.
"Rob and I were involved for quite a bit ... I'm very protective of that relationship. He was a very big love of my life."
She would not give more details when pressed by Morgan.
Hunter began dating Williams - a notorious womaniser - in 2002 following her split from Rod Stewart. The relationship lasted about a year.

She is nicknamed "The Body", but Elle Macpherson has already proved there is more to her than her model looks by launching her own highly lucrative line of lingerie.
Now, the original supermodel and 43-year-old mother of two, has broadened her business brief by being appointed an executive director of one of the world's longest established surf-wear brands.
Macpherson joins a growing band of famous names sitting on the boards of companies, including newsreader Anna Ford and musician Bob Geldof.
She has joined the board of Hot Tuna, one of the smallest companies listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM), as an executive director.
Founded in Macpherson's native Australia in 1969, Hot Tuna went on to become one of the most famous surfing brands in the world, with its distinctive red piranha logo.
The business went dormant, but eight years ago was revived by a group of Australian investors, who turned it into an international company with headquarters in London and offices in Los Angeles and Sydney.
After floating on the AIM last September, the company is currently valued at £19.4m ($58.7m). With the help of Macpherson's fashion expertise and international network of contacts, Hot Tuna hopes to regain its crown as a leading youth fashion brand.
Sales of Elle Macpherson Intimates, the lingerie and swimwear brand launched in 1990, are estimated at £40m in Britain alone. The supermodel also recently launched her own skincare range, The Body.
Under her deal with Hot Tuna, Macpherson will received two million shares, worth £800,000 plus a further two million in share options worth between £1m and £1.5m.

It is Macpherson's first company directorship. Fittingly, 17 years ago, she was the face of Hot Tuna's women's swimwear line.
Chairman Ranjit Murugason, said: "Elle Macpherson is inspired by Hot Tuna, because she grew up in Australia at a time when it was the brand to buy.

'Project Runway' has intriguing third-season lineup

Heidi Klum is excited about the third season of “Project Runway” (premiering Wednesday at 10 p.m. on Bravo). She just won’t say much about it.
To make sure viewers are surprised, the supermodel refused to dish about the celebrity guest judges, the new challenges for the 15 designers or how Macy’s corporate sponsorship will change the show. Her lips are sewn tighter than, well, a Santino Rice design.
Klum did say this season brings “more sophisticated and more professional designers to the competition. They see how big ‘Project Runway’ has become, and that it is real and we’re not just some goofballs doing stupid stuff,” Klum said during a recent telephone conference call.
“I think America has great designers to offer and great talent out there. I think that’s what our show is about. I think that’s why reality TV has become so successful because you see lives of so many different people in this country, and they want to have a shot in life. Our show is not about grinding up worms and eating them or seeing how long they can last doing some crazy stunt.”
The expectant mother, who also hosts the German version of “Next Top Model,” promises that even though the competitors have had the benefit of watching the previous seasons, she and lovable mentor Tim Gunn still manage to challenge them.

“They all think they know everything by now,” she said. “But, you know, I still shock them a lot.”
She has sympathy for the contestants when they exhibit catty, bratty behavior.
“I think that it’s just normal. They’re under a lot of pressure. We give them hard challenges and they want to win. A lot of people stopped their business for a long period of time to come to New York and do this experience with us. So they really want to make it work. They don’t want to be the one who gets kicked off. We see them once a week and think, ‘How bad can it be?’ But you turn the TV off and live your normal life again and they’re still there. It’s very hard to be around the same people. You can’t watch TV. You can’t call people. You can’t speak to your friends and bitch about the other people.”
Klum doesn’t believe winning the show guarantees success in the competitive design field.
“Just because you are the winner of ‘Project Runway’ doesn’t mean you are the winner out there,” she said. “Because then you are on your own, and it’s really up to you what you make out of this.”

After having endured a "chaotic" and "dysfunctional" childhood, Ashley Judd underwent a 47-day program at a Texas treatment center last February in order to deal with the issues of her past, including depression, isolation and co-dependent relationships, she says.
"I needed help. I was in so much pain," Judd, who says she slept to combat depression and exhibited a compulsion to clean, tells Glamour magazine.
In recounting her childhood, Judd, 38, describes herself as a "hyper-vigilant child" who attempted to behave perfectly in order to compensate for her lack of security. She went to 13 schools in 12 years and shifted from living with her mother, her father and her grandparents.
"Supposedly, my sister was the 'messed-up' one, and I was the 'perfect' one," says Judd, whose mother is Grammy-winning country singer-songwriter Naomi Judd and sister is Wynonna, another Grammy winner. Her father is her mother's high-school sweetheart, Michael Ciminella. (Ashley's parents divorced when she was four.)

It was during a visit with Wynonna, 42, while she was being treated for a food addiction at the Shades of Hope Treatment Center in Buffalo Gap, Texas, that counselors reportedly noticed Ashley's emotional problems and approached her about treatment.

"They said, 'No one ever does an intervention on people like you. You look too good. You're too smart and together. But you (and Wynonna) come from the same family, so you come from the same wound.' No one had validated my pain before," says Ashley.

She denies tabloid reports that she was under treatment for eating disorders, "though I did take a look at my eating. Why wouldn't I? I looked at everything else in my life under a microscope," she says.

Of curbing her compulsive habit of wiping down plastic surfaces on planes and at hotels, Judd says: "Now I try to remind myself that if I engage in perfectionism, I am abusing myself."

She also credits the stint at Shades of Hope as helping her 4-year marriage to racecar driver Dario Franchitti, 33. "I was unhappy, and now I'm happy," she says. "Now, even when I'm having a rough day, it's better than my best day before treatment."

Plus, she says, she's learned to take responsibility for her own feelings. "One of my favorite quotes is by Eleanor Roosevelt," says Judd. That is, "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."

Kate Moss has written a poem in which she admits that her on-off boyfriend Pete Doherty loves drugs more than her.
Published in an underground literary magazine, Moss writes: "You love them more than you love me/So that's why I could cry all day long/that's why I can't breath(e)."
The poem, in Moss's handwriting, was scrawled on a page of Doherty's own journals. The journals - often rambling and incoherent - are expected to form the basis of a kiss-and-tell book the singer is writing about his relationship with the supermodel.
Moss's own drugtaking - she was caught on camera snorting a substance that appeared to be cocaine - became subject of a nine-month police investigation. The 32-year-old, who has a young daughter, learned earlier this month she would not face charges because of a technicality.
The poem is published in the magazine Full Moon Empty Sports Bag, which is co-edited by Paul Roundhill, Doherty's self-styled literary agent.
Roundhill, who lives in Whitechapel, was the only person ever convicted as a result of the police investigation into Moss's alleged drug taking. Doherty, 27, appears to have passed extracts of his journals onto Roundhill for publication in the magazine.
In one typed passage, Doherty seemingly vows to quit drugs if Moss will marry him. There had been talk the pair had once got engaged.

In the entry, dated September 2005 - around the time Moss was photographed allegedly taking drugs - Doherty writes: "Dear Kate, You'll never read this I suppose which is handy 'cause I can write it then, even though you're only upstairs. En passant or so. The stairs seem so close perhaps I'll come up eh? Would be strange if you walked round the door this second. Anyway, I love you so much it has estranged me from myself even. In another extract, Doherty criticises one of Moss's closest friends the actress Sadie Frost for "bashing me with her knockers".
It reads: "...she being the 40 year-old Sadie Frost... For starters when I asked her with (more than a jot of) discretion not to continue bashing me with her knockers every time she spoke to me, she responded with a deplorable tantrum which induced the outrage: 'I can't help if my tits are bigger than Kate's'." Doherty writes: "What kind of friends are these that my love brings out to the country and me thinking we were to be alone..."
Roundhill, 51, given a 12-month conditional discharge after pleading guilty to possession of class A drugs, said: "Pete gave me it to use in the magazine. Some of it is his writing and some of it is Kate's. It looks as if the drugs were too much [for Kate].
"She's been giving him quite a hard time about it, trying to sort him out. She even paid for his last round of drug implants.
"It's Kate's debut as a writer. It's very interesting and she is a very interesting girl. With her singing and writing I think she's looking for a future role."

Dickinson: I got the boot from the teeny tiny [executive producer] Ken Mok. He called me the day before [the item] ran in the papers that I was replaced. There were certainly some boundaries when I started and it's still not a perfect world. But there was also an incredible iconic woman, Iman, for us to look up to. There were doors that needed to be opened and I consider it a great achievement to be there to help do so.

Legal troubles
She is reputed to have a temper, with several alleged cases involving violence against her staff(often involving a thrown cell phone), as well as verbal abuse. In October of 2002, the Mirror won an Appeal Court ruling that the photographs were indeed in the public interest. Campbell was ordered to pay the costs of the Mirror's legal fees, a cost of around £350,000. However, in May of 2004, the Law Lords overturned the Appeal Court ruling by a 3 to 2 majority, which reinstated the High Court's original decision, and Campbell was rewarded £3,500 and the £350,000 legal costs. The Mirror's legal cost is thought to be over £1,000,000. The case is also thought to be a landmark in the rights of celebrities to privacy.
Campbell was most recently arrested on March 30 2006 in New York City for allegedly assaulting her assistant with a cell phone. She was charged with second-degree assault, a felony that carries a minimum sentence of one year in prison.

Singer Sought Treatment In Between 'Idol' Tapings."American Idol" runner-up Katharine McPhee finished second to Taylor Hicks, but she still counts herself as a victor in her five-year bout with bulima.McPhee, 22, tells People magazine that she's been struggling to cope with the binge-and-purge eating disorder since she was 17. At her lowest point, she was throwing up seven times a day -- something that could've permanently damaged her vocal cords.

"When I made it onto 'American Idol,' I knew that food -- my eating disorder -- was the one thing really holding me back," she said in the issue that hits newsstands this week.
"I was binging my whole life away for days at a time. … So when I got on the show, I said, 'You know what? I can do well in this competition. Let me give myself a chance and just get a hold of this thing.'"
After successfully auditioning for "Idol" in the fall, McPhee sought help. She credits her parents and her boyfriend, Nick Cokas, for helping her face the problem.In October, she enrolled in the Eating Disorder Center of California in Los Angeles and spent three months undergoing therapy for six days a week.

In December, when she returned to "Idol" for more taping, she told the producers about her eating disorder, but kept it a secret from everyone else.

Milla Jovovich is a patient woman. Sort of. For the last hour, inside an abandoned-looking loft building on the eastern edge of Los Angeles, Jovovich (pronounced "yovovitch"), California's model-actress-musician-designer nonpareil, has allowed two men to throw trash at her over and over.

The sight of such a heavenly creature, dressed in a pristine, ivory nightie of her own design, fending off a shower of crumpled, greasy news pages, is a riveting juxtaposition. It is, of course, a staged spectacle. (Any stranger actually hurling garbage at the martial arts-trained performer might suffer a swift kick to the midsection.) The debris swirling about this mistress of the hyphenate is all part of a photo shoot and Jovovich, who has, in the immortal words of Madonna, "given good face" for over two decades, needs only the slightest direction from the photographer.
Once the shoot is over and the makeup is removed (exposing a faint and rarely-seen spray of freckles on her face), the blue-eyed beauty admits she'd always rather cut to the chase -- no matter that the job. "Dude, get a vision and follow it," says Jovovich in her unique, raspy California vernacular, revealing the no-nonsense work ethic that has guided her through a rich and unusual career. At age nine, she began out on auditions. At 11, when most of her peers were being fitted for braces and training bras, Jovovich became the youngest model ever to land the cover of a major fashion magazine. Within a year of this debut, the pre-teen darling would pose for Richard Avedon and Herb Ritts and sound this world-weary note in People magazine: "I don't even bother to count my covers." By 13, she had finished her first feature film.
Like Botticelli's Venus, the Ukrainian-born Jovovich arrived in the world fully formed (but minus the half-shell). People who observed her piercing gaze -- far less intense in person -- and her seemingly endless legs easily lost sight of just how young she was. To understand Jovovich's premature maturity, one has to look at her history. At the age of five, her family fled the Soviet Union and settled in Los Angeles. "My mom was a big movie star in Russia. But when we moved to America, everything changed," Jovovich explains of her family's fortunes. With the money she made in Russia, Galina Loginova, Jovovich's mother, invested in their new future: Milla.
"Classes," the dutiful daughter recalls, "piano, singing, acting and dance."
To get by, Loginova and her husband, Bogich Jovovich, a doctor, cooked and cleaned for Brian de Palma. "The closest thing that I can call home is Coldwater Canyon and Mulholland Drive," Jovovich says, referring to the general vicinity of the director's house, "because that's where we started from." Without a hint of self-pity, she recalls of those lean years that "everybody had to work."
And it would appear that her mother's investment has paid off. In spades. To date, Jovovich has appeared in ad campaigns for Chanel, Calvin Klein, DKNY and countless other global brands. Her album, "The Divine Comedy" (1994), drew the singer favorable comparisons to Tori Amos and Kate Bush. And unlike certain teen queens dabbling in pop careers today, Jovovich wrote all of her own material.
A lucrative ongoing deal with L'Oreal helped vault her to the top of Forbes magazine's "Richest Supermodels of the World" list in 2004, a year she earned a reported $10.5 million. Across 18 films, Jovovich has worked with respected auteurs like Wim Wenders, Spike Lee, and Michael Winterbottom. Wenders, who directed her in The Million Dollar Hotel, a whodunit set in a seedy L.A. flophouse, says, "Milla was simply brilliant in her part as Eloise," adding, "I admire how she handles all her talents, enough for many careers." And since her appearance as a "supreme being" battling evil in The Fifth Element, which was directed by Luc Besson (to whom the actress was briefly married), she has also quietly built a body of work in the typically impenetrable boys' club of action movies. The third installment of Resident Evil starring this accomplished butt-kicker is already in pre-production.

The fact that Jovovich is now the most bankable female action hero after Angelina Jolie doesn't surprise those who know her. "She's very brave. She's unafraid to dive into something difficult," says longtime friend and design partner Carmen Hawk. And while her work in smaller films like Winterbottom's The Claim and Lee's He Got Game has garnered more critical attention -- New Yorker critic David Denby wrote that the scenes between Denzel Washington and Jovovich, who plays a prostitute, were "about the most tender Lee has ever filmed" -- Jovovich seems more than happy to have ventured beyond the art house, adding "heroine" to her already staggering retinue of titles.
"It's awesome. I love martial arts. I always wanted to be a Ninja warrior when I was little, so I'm living out a fantasy," she says excitedly. "You won't see me sleepwalking through an action film, which is unfortunately what a lot of actors end up doing, because it's, like, 'not serious' or 'artistic.'"
One reason, perhaps, that Jovovich doesn't get hung up on coming across as a serious person is because she actually is one. A voracious reader and self-described "nerd" -- and not in the run-of-the-mill, "I was gawky and no one took me to the prom" kind of way -- Jovovich could have been a humanities major at U.C. Berkeley in another life. Instead, she is 100 percent self-taught. Writers like Zola, Dickens and Gabriel Garcia Marquez pepper our conversation the way talk of Balenciaga bags would another interview with many actresses her age. Science magazines spill out of her giant red Bottega Veneta tote.

"Did you see this month's New Scientist?" she asks, her eyes lighting up. She fishes the issue, which has something to do with neuroscans, out of her bag. Realizing how odd the question is, she puts on an heiress' airhead accent in self-mockery: "It. Is. So. Hot!"
Lately, Jovovich's polymathic tendencies have found another outlet. Last year, she and Hawk, also a model, launched a women's clothing line together. Jovovich-Hawk was born out of both women's love for vintage designs. Hawk sums up their shared style as "1950s party dresses, that Brigitte Bardot cute-sexy look, and Depression-era stuff." The two fledgling designers have no formal training, but they've had plenty of on-the-job experience. "We're learning how to those ropey Grecian necklines now," Hawk admits.

The British tabloids and paparazzi often target Kate Moss, most likely because she never gives interviews. UK tabloid the Sunday Mirror was sued successfully by Moss for claiming that she had slipped into a coma after taking large amounts of cocaine in Spain years earlier. It was also alleged by the media in September 2005 that Moss has had a long-standing lesbian affair with best friend Sadie Frost.
Further allegations have been made that she has had sex with both Sadie and Sadie's then husband Jude Law several times, and that she has also been involved in lesbian threesomes with Sadie Frost and British TV star Davinia Taylor. Moss has been accused of almost everything from heroin use to anorexia. British tabloids, particularly the Daily Mirror, have long alleged that Moss habitually used cocaine. In interviews Moss dismissed these claims as ridiculous.

The cocaine scandal
On 15 September 2005, the Daily Mirror ran front page and inside photos that seemed to show Moss snorting several lines of cocaine at a Babyshambles recording session. Her boyfriend at the time, Pete Doherty, is the lead singer and songwriter of the band. It has been alleged by Doherty that James Mullord, his former manager, was the one that sold the photos to the newspaper for a sum in excess of £150,000.
Moss ended the relationship with Doherty in November 2005, soon after he checked himself out early from the Meadows Clinic in Arizona, failing to complete a program for drug rehabilitation. Moss herself had undergone successful treatment there the previous month and had urged Doherty to seek the same treatment himself, while also paying for his stayDoherty, however, claims that their separation involved other issues, telling the The Sun newspaper that Moss left him because, “I can’t buy her diamonds and my dick is too small.”
On 20 September 2005, the Swedish fashion retailer H&M announced they were dropping Moss after giving her a second chance after hearing of her drug allegations. She would have been used for the campaign of their autumn clothes range designed by Moss's good friend Stell McCartney.
The contract was reportedly worth £4 million a year. The next day, Chanel announced that it was not renewing its contract with Moss, which was set to expire in October, although the company said that its decision had nothing to do with the drug scandal. Burberry also decided to drop Moss's campaign with them.
Moss continued during this period to appear in major ad campaigns for Dior. Moss was on the cover of the November 2005 W and also inside in a multiple page "fashion shoot".
Friends and supporters of Moss have defended her, including models Naomi Campbell and Helena Christensen, French actress Catherine Deneuve, pop singer Robbie Williams, ex-boyfriend Johnny Depp, and designer Alexander McQueen especially during his walk out after his fashion show wearing a t-shirt saying "We love you Kate". Artist Stella Vine also supported her, and paintings of Moss by Vine in this incident were exhibited and reproduced in the press.
Moss herself has issued an apology, though she stopped short of admitting drug use. "I take full responsibility for my actions. I also accept that there are various personal issues that I need to address and have started taking the difficult, yet necessary, steps to resolve them," Moss said. "I want to apologize to all of the people I have let down because of my behavior which has reflected badly on my family, friends, co-workers, business associates and others."
Kate made a comeback just months after the cocaine scandal broke. Her annual earnings more than doubled after she left rehab. Her current contracts include: Rimmel, Virgin Mobile, Dior, Roberto Cavalli, Longchamp, Stella McCartney, Bvlgari, Nikon and David Yurman. She is rumoured to return to fashion houses Burberry and possibly even Chanel, both of which had previously severed ties with the model.
On 5 January 2006, the Metropolitan Police asked Moss to return from the US to Britain to answer questions about the incident. The following day, the Daily Mirror reported that Moss would return to Britain and face arrest about allegations of cocaine usage. She was interviewed by police in London on 31 January 2006, with her solicitor present, but reportedly made no admissions, and she was not arrested (photographs of alleged drug-taking are not admissible evidence in British courts).

Raica Oliveira said in an interview published on Tuesday in the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo that she planned to marry and to have children, but had no timetable set.
Asked if there was any work she would not do, she said: "I could not pose nude. Nothing against those who do, but I never felt right about it. It's not something that would make me proud."
Raica, 22, spent Monday with Ronaldo at the Brazilian team's hotel in Konigstein, Germany, before heading back across the Atlantic for modeling assignments in New York and Rio de Janeiro.

Fans of Janice Dickinson’s biting commentary on “America’s Next Top Model” will rejoice to learn that the self-proclaimed “world’s first supermodel” is hosting her own modeling show called “The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency,” debuting 10pm, Tues, June 6, on the Oxygen Network
On her new reality TV venture she will choose five male and female models to sign up with her own new modeling agency based in Los Angeles.
Dickinson was “Top Model’s” Simon Cowell, the bitchy judge who wasn’t afraid to speak her mind and didn’t care what the contestants thought, until her departure in 2005. Since she was replaced with Twiggy, all fans agree that there’s a certain “Janice se quoi” missing from the show.
Dickinson had a brief stint on VH1’s “The Surreal Life” last year but that B-list spectacle lacked the juicy goodness of over-the-top vanity and obsession with beauty, weight and plastic surgery that is Dickinson’s trademark. (During a recent phone interview with the Washington Blade, Dickinson announced, “I was just waving to my plastic surgeon from the [car] window.”)
“Since I have the hottest men in the world, you’ll just have to tune in and find out how I take all their clothes off to find out if they’re packing,” Dickinson said.

Supermodel Claudia Schiffer strikes sexy pose for Germany
Model Claudia Schiffer Monday unveiled a patriotic poster of herself wrapped naked in her national stamen as part of a publicity campaign for Germany.
Her picture appears under the banner 'Invest in Germany Boys' and will be displayed at London's Bank underground station during the tournament.
The supermodel, who lives in Britain, urged her fellow Germans to wave their national stamen at the Germany in the same way millions of English people will be displaying the Cross of St George.

She said: 'In England everyone waves the English flag, on t- shirts, on posters framed at home. This does not exist in Germany at all,' Britain's Press Association reported.
The supermodel said Germans were aware of their country's history but added: 'Today we are much more cosmopolitan. We have changed and grown into a positive nation with a great positive, democratic development.
'I hope within Germany we can make it cool that we can wear a German flag and not be embarrassed about it.'
Ms Schiffer said she was keen to convince the English and the rest of the World that Germany was 'fun and cool.'
After unveiling the poster at the German embassy in London, Schiffer said she had been influenced by Brigittr Bardot being photographed with the French flag which had given France a 'feminine accent.'
The model is the face of a campaign to use the World Cup to rebrand Germany's image. Germany is being promoted as the 'Land of Ideas' - a phrase coined by President Horst Koehler - and a cosmopolitan, innovative, modern country.
The campaign is aimed at other countries, including Britain, to promote business investment and tourism in Germany.

Carolyn Murphy, born on August 11, 1975, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA, is an American supermodel. Graduated from Choctawhatchee High School in Fort Walton Beach.
She is featured on the cover of the 2005 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She was VH1/Vogue's "Model of the Year" in 1998. She is currently the face of Estee Lauder, replacing Elizabeth Hurley as the company's primary female model.

Carolyn grew up throughout Northwest Florida spending most of her childhood in a trailer park in Panama City, Florida. At the age of 16 she was spotted by Mary Lou Nash, owner and operator of Mary Lou's Models, a modeling agency. Nash saw Carolyn's potential and soon she was modeling in local ads and magazines throughout Florida and Alabama.
When she graduated from high school Murphy moved to Milan to further her modeling career. Her career kicked into high-gear when she bleached her hair platinum blond for a photo shoot ruining her hair and causing it to fall out.
