Gisele Highest Placed Supermodel on Forbes List
Gisele Bundchen has taken the highest supermodel placing on the annual Forbes List of the 100 most powerful celebrities.
The Brazilian model was number 71st on the list leading supermodels Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks and Adriana Lima.
Bundchen has appeared in high profile campaigns for top designers including Victoria Secrets, Louis Vuitton and Dolce and Gabbana. Kate Moss came in at number 77 which proved the 31 year old fashion comeback is complete.
Tom Cruise topped the list as the world’s most powerful celebrity which includes rating a stars column inches as well as their fortune.
Forbes said;" Generating headlines isn’t enough to solidify your standing in Hollywood. A fat pay check won’t do either. Only a combination of earnings and sizzle will land a celebrity a coveted spot on our list."
Gisele Bündchen was born in Três de Maio, near Horizontina, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. She is the daughter of Valdir and Vânia Bündchen, both of German descent, along with five sisters: Raquel, Graziela, Patrícia, Gabriela and Rafaela. Patricia and Gisele are fraternal twins. Bündchen has mentioned several times that at least one of her sisters has attempted a modeling career as well. Pictures of her family reveal they share the same statuesque bone structures, and long, wavy brown hair.
Bündchen has done ads and runway shows for various fashion houses including Valentino, Zara, Bvlgari, Tommy Hilfiger, Chloé, Celine, Versace, Christian Dior, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Victoria's Secret, Dolce & Gabbana, and Louis Vuitton. She has also appeared on the covers of Allure, Marie Claire, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Arena, and Rolling Stone. Her curvaceous figure prompted Vogue to refer to her body of work as the "return of the sexy model", since she seems to have marked the end of a trend of "waif" models such as Kate Moss.
Bündchen is rumored to be the face of an advertising campaign for Apple Computer, however, this has yet to be run.
